Ocean City Repertory Theater Overview

Ocean City Repertory Theater, founded in 2001 by Flossi Micciolo, is the first and the oldest performing arts institution in Ocean City. As an integral part of South Jersey's cultural landscape, providing entertainment and education opportunities to thousands of residents, OC Rep Theater is the only professional theatre in Cape May county that provides programming that spans all generations.

Major Programs

  • Mainstage (professional theatre for adult audiences)
  • Theater For Young Audiences (theatre for youth and families)
  • Education (offering classes, camps and workshops)
  • Candlelight Readings (offering staged readings of literature)
  • Musical Mondays (offering jazz, blues, rock and classical music performances)

For eight years OC Rep traveled from location to location in, Ocean City, to put on performances. Finally, in May of 2010 we found a permanent home at 813 Asbury Avenue. We took a storefront in downtown Ocean City and turned it into a 50 seat Black Box theater.

The Black Box is considered by many to be a place where more “pure” theater can be explored, with an intimate focus on the story, writing and performances rather than the technical elements. So it works perfectly for the intimate, thought- provoking and artistically challenging shows the Repertory Theater performs.
